Nintendo Wii Homebrew Emulator Yabause 0.9.10 alpha7 Released

The Team behind Yabuse a Sega Saturn emulator for various platforms have released a new version. The Sega Saturn emulator is the first of its kind as it's emulating the complex processes of the Sega Saturn which is much harder than it looks, and even harder to run on the limited hardware of the Wii.

What's New?

ver. 0.9.10 alpha7 - Oct. 31, 2009
  • can play repeatedly
  • fix displaying more
  • high resolution version (highreso.dol)
ver. 0.9.10 alpha6 - Oct. 29, 2009
  • fix displaying, again (but, cannot test all TV-modes except NTSC-J)
  • omit small black square in left-top corner
  • delete stopping DVD (because the latest HBC stops DVD)
ver. 0.9.10 alpha5 - Oct. 25, 2009
  • fix displaying
ver. 0.9.10 alpha4 - Oct. 24, 2009
  • support GameCube Controller & stick of Classic Controller
  • improve displaying ..(but, maybe provisionally)

I will probably test this later today. The first version of Yabause could only get me to the Saturn Menu screen so it will be great to actually try out some games.

Sorry to break your hopes, but this emulator runs slow .... 10-15FPS that games that actually run. It was originally just a *proof of concept* until another author started updating it. Needless to say the author needs to work on speeding the emulator up.

This was something I never expected since the proof of concept release, cause when that came it sounded like there wouldnt be any other updates. By the original coders or else. Glad to see someone picked it up.

Now if only someone could port NeoCD Redux off of the gamecube. That's an emulator I miss using, and while I know I can use a homebrew launcher for it, I wont. Not when the launchers are risky to use.

Anyways back to the topic at hand. A great suprise indeed to see this particular emulator updated.

I'd love for this to get some more work. Although, I do own an original Saturn...but that would require close to $60 investment for a modchip and ram cart.

This is so great! I'm really glad this is getting attention. The Saturn had some great games. Keep up the good work.

Excellent news!
At least someone is working on this and we all hope that we'll see some major updates ironing speed issues.
Has anyone tried some games? Can someone post a compatibility list?
